He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:1–2
Grandparents worry too, often from a distance. You can’t be there for every school drop-off or car ride, but you can ask God to watch over your grandchildren. This prayer is for their safety and for your peace of mind.
Lord, I bring my grandchildren to You and ask You to protect them.
Watch over every one of them today. Keep them safe at home, at school, in the car and at the park. Guard them from accidents and illness. Keep them away from people who would harm them, in person or online.
Give their parents sharp eyes and good judgment. Help them make wise decisions about who cares for the children and where they go.
As my grandchildren grow, give them good sense of their own. Help them recognize danger and walk away from it. Give them friends who look out for them.
Protect their hearts too, Lord. Keep them from fear and from things they are too young to see. Let them grow up feeling safe and loved.
You know how much I worry, especially when they are far away. Help me trust You with them. Let me sleep tonight knowing they are in Your care.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A short prayer by name, every morning. Free to start.

Psalm 91:1–2
He who fears the LORD is secure in confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Proverbs 14:26
The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121:7–8
Lord, protect my grandchildren today. Watch over them wherever they are and whoever they are with. Keep them from accidents and harm. Give their parents wisdom. Let my grandchildren feel safe and loved, and let me rest knowing they are in Your care. Amen.
It’s easy to lie awake imagining every bad thing that could happen. When that happens, try praying for each grandchild by name, one at a time, and then leave them with God. You don’t have to solve everything tonight.
