Praying for a daughter covers a lot of ground, from her safety to the way she sees herself. This prayer is for any day and any age. Put her name in it and make it your own.
Lord, thank You for my daughter. You made her, and You know her heart better than anyone, even me.
Keep her safe today. Watch over her at school, at work, in the car and in the places I don’t know about. Give her good sense about people and the courage to walk away when something feels wrong.
Help her see herself the way You see her. When the world tells her she isn’t pretty enough or smart enough, quiet those voices. Let her know her worth comes from You and not from a mirror or a phone screen.
Give her friends who are true to her. When she is hurt, comfort her. When she makes a mistake, help her own it and move on.
Draw her close to You, Father. Let her faith be her own, strong enough to hold her when I’m not there to hold her.
And help me be the parent she needs, someone she can always come home to.

Father, I give my daughter to You today. Keep her safe and keep her heart. Help her know she is loved and that her worth comes from You. Give her wisdom with friends and courage to say no when she needs to. Stay close to her all day long. Amen.
As daughters get older, they often tell us less. That’s normal, and it can still be hard. Prayer is one way to stay close to her life even when you don’t know every detail. You can pray about the things you don’t know and leave them with God.
