The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121:7–8
Sending a daughter out into the world takes a kind of courage every parent understands. This prayer asks God to keep her safe in body and in heart. Pray it in the morning, at night, or any time she is on your mind.
Father, I bring my daughter to You and ask You to keep her safe.
Watch over her today wherever she goes. Protect her on the road, in parking lots, on campus and at work. Keep her away from people who would take advantage of her or hurt her. Give her a strong sense of when something is wrong and the confidence to leave.
Surround her with people who will look out for her, good friends and coworkers who notice. Let her never feel she has to face danger alone.
Protect her heart, Lord. Guard her from relationships that would wound her and from voices that would make her feel small. Keep her mind clear and her spirit strong.
I know I can’t be with her every minute. That is hard for me. But You are with her when I’m not. You see her when she walks to her car at night and when she is alone in her apartment. Be her shelter.
Bring her home safe, and let her sleep well tonight.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A short prayer by name, every morning. Free to start.
The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121:7–8
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and he delivers them.
Psalm 34:7
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10
Lord, keep my daughter safe today. Watch over her wherever she goes and whoever she is with. Give her good judgment and the courage to walk away from danger. Protect her body and her heart. When I can’t be near her, You are. Bring her home safe tonight. Amen.
If your daughter has moved out or travels for work, it can be hard not knowing where she is at night. Try praying for the specific parts of her day, like her commute and the people she sees. It turns a general worry into something you can hand to God.
