Psalm 91:11
Every parent knows the feeling of waiting for a text that says “I’m here.” This prayer asks God to watch over your son wherever he is today, near home or far away. Pray it when he walks out the door.
Lord, I’m asking You to protect my son today.
You know where he is going and who he will be with. You know the roads he’ll drive and the streets he’ll walk. Be with him on every one of them. Keep him safe from accidents, from violence and from people who mean him harm.
Guard him from danger he can’t see coming. Give him good judgment in the moments that matter, like when to leave a party and when to call for help. Let him listen to that quiet warning inside when something isn’t right.
Protect his mind and his heart too. Keep him from things that would hurt him on the inside, from shame and from lies about who he is.
Lord, You know how much I worry. I can’t follow him everywhere, and I can’t keep every bad thing away. So I place him in Your care. Keep watch over him tonight and bring him home safe.
I trust You with my son. Amen.
