Commit your works to the LORD and your plans will be achieved.
Proverbs 16:3
Job hunting can wear a young person down, and it can be hard for a parent to watch. This prayer asks God to open the right door for your son or daughter and to keep their spirits up while they wait. Pray it before an interview or any time the search feels long.
Lord, my child is looking for work, and it’s been harder than they expected.
You know their gifts, their training and the kind of place where they would do well. Please lead them to the right job. Open doors that have been closed. Put their application in front of the right person.
Give them confidence for interviews. Help them speak clearly and be themselves. Calm their nerves when the phone rings. Let them see their own worth even after a string of rejections.
Provide for them while they wait, Lord. Meet their needs, and help them be wise with what they have.
Keep them from getting discouraged. When they start to think something is wrong with them, remind them that You haven’t forgotten them. Give them patience and the strength to keep trying.
And help me support them without adding pressure. Let me encourage more than I advise.
When the right job comes, let them do it well and with a grateful heart.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A short prayer by name, every morning. Free to start.

Proverbs 16:3
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish for us the work of our hands— yes, establish the work of our hands!
Psalm 90:17
And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
Lord, please open the right door for my child. Lead them to a job where they can use their gifts and be treated well. Give them confidence in interviews and patience while they wait. Provide for their needs in the meantime. Keep them from losing heart. Amen.
A long job search can shake anyone’s confidence. Along with prayer, small things help, like a ride to an interview or a note that says you believe in them. Try not to ask about it every day. Let them know you are praying, and leave the door open for them to talk.
