Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
Loneliness can come in an empty house or in a crowded room. This prayer tells God how alone you feel and asks for company, His and other people’s.
Lord, I feel so alone.
The days are quiet, and the evenings are long. Sometimes it feels like no one would notice if I wasn’t here. You notice. You always have.
Be my company today. Let me feel You near when I wake up, when I eat alone, when I go to bed.
Bring people into my life who will care for me, and give me the courage to reach out first. Help me find a place where I belong.
And show me someone else who is lonely, so I can be company for them too.
Thank You that I am never truly alone. You promised never to leave me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
God settles the lonely in families; He leads the prisoners out to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.
Psalm 68:6
and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20
Lord, sit with me tonight. Thank You for being here. Amen.
Psalm 68 says God gives the lonely a home. Often He does it through people: a church, a neighbor, a friend who calls back. Praying for company and taking one small step toward someone often go together.
